SIER Library

Libraries are backbone of any civilized society and heart of any academic institution. Thus the SIER library also acquires a prominent place among the students and faculty. It is situated on first floor having area of 5000 square meters. The library has seating capacity of 50. The Library has a very rich collection of relevant books and journals on Education. The library services are provided to students, staff & school staff members for updating their knowledge and supporting the research and teaching / learning activities.

Library operations and services are automated and computerized using e-Granthalaya software which is an integrated multi user library management software developed by National Informatics Centre, New Delhi. It covers all basic as well advance operations and services of the library. Two separate computer systems have been provided for Online Public Access Catalogue(OPAC) , so that students can get fast access to books. The collection kept in the Stacks is arranged according to DDC numbers. Proper guidelines have been displayed on the Stacks to guide the users to search books. All the students have been given Open Access to books, so that they can see, touch, read and then issue the books for home reading. Bibliographic records of holdings can be accessed through the e- Granthalaya’s On-line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) as well as through college website. Internet browsing facility is accessible on all the terminals of the library including On-line resources (N-LIST) subscribed by the library.

 Objective Of Library

To encourage the formation of a lifetime habit of reading for learning, for exploration and for recreation. The primary objective of our library is to provide books, periodicals, and other instructional materials to support the academic program.
